Are you a Real Estate agent who uses their iPhone on the job? The iPhone has a lot of apps that can make your job easier. Below are five apps that I have used and when applied to the Real Estate profession could really come in handy.
Evernote – Need to keep track of all the contacts and colleagues you meet on the road? Scan their business cards with the iPhone’s camera and Evernote will scan in the information so it’s waiting for you in text form back on your desktop. One of the best things about Evernote is that it will use character recognition from the business cards so that you can search by name or other information from the card later. You can also store photos of houses that you can search for in the LMS when you get back home.
Puluwai – The power of location-based, mobile real estate search can be seen in this app. Bare bones for now, and the search results are pretty sketchy – but familiarize yourself with this experience… the future is here.
Yelp – Keep track of your online reputation in Yelp’s reviews with this handy app. Better still… find a good place for lunch when you’re out on the road. Yelp will allow you to get information about the area before meeting with the client at a house. Lots of reviews on all kinds of things in the neighborhood.
Nearby – On a neighborhood tour with out of town clients? Top up the databanks with useful local landmarks pulled from Platial’s geobits. Better still create your own neighborhood tours on Platial and pull them up on your iPhone.
Sketches – Take a photo of a property you want to email to a client? Use Sketches to mark it up, add arrows and notes right on the photograph.
If you have other apps that you use on the job, please leave a comment to share your ideas with others.

I think it’s time for a good real estate joke: Did you hear about Robin Hood’s house? It has a little John.
