Measures is a unit conversion application, but don’t let that fact fool you. This is one of the most comprehensive conversion apps we’ve seen. It has tons of categories and just about every conversion type you can think of and its currency conversions are updated daily. To top it off, it’s actually easy to use.

To start off, simply select a category for conversion. It has all the basics like length and weight, but it’s even cooler. Ever think you might need to convert luminance? How about radioactivity? If you have Measures, it can be done.

Here’s a full list of conversion categories this app handles:

  • Length

  • Area
  • Weight
  • Volume
  • Temperature
  • Time
  • Fuel Consumption
  • Information / Data Storage
  • Speed
  • Currencies (170 countries)
  • Acceleration
  • Pressure
  • Energy
  • Power
  • Force
  • Torque
  • Angle
  • Charge
  • Density
  • Luminance
  • SI Prefixes
  • Flow
  • Radioactivity
  • Magnetic Flux
  • Magnetic Flux Density
  • Clothes and Shoes Sizes

Once you’ve decided on a conversion, you can bring up a calculator to do some quick math on either end of the conversion. Need to swap the units? Simply shake the phone and they’re swapped. If you find yourself doing certain conversions regularly, a column of four “favorites” buttons are available. Simply bring up the conversion and hold one of the buttons and a shortcut is made.

If you’re overwhelmed by the insane amount of conversion types or units, you can actually disable them within the app. The unit categories can also be sorted in any way that you choose.

However, the most important thing is whether or not you can actually figure the app out. Surprisingly enough, even with the crazy amount of conversions available, the app is incredibly easy to figure out. If you’re unsure about something, Measures also comes with a full set of instructions.

If the default style isn’t your cup of tea, the app does come with a second theme.

The good: Tons of conversion categories, extremely easy to use, conversions are kept up to date every day. Full instructions are included in case you need them.

The bad: Nothing!

The Bottom line: This app is simply too good to pass up. For the price, it’s a must have for every single iPhone user. Even if you can’t think of a use for it right now, you’ll find a use for it eventually!
