HOLLYWOOD, FL, DECEMBER 15, 2010: The Middle-earth Map for the iPad is an original “wall sized” map of The World of Arda. Based on the book The Silmarillion by J. R. R. Tolkien, you can visually follow along with the tales of the First Age and understand where the critical events are happening.

The Middle-earth Map features include:
• A category list of places with a button to “Go There” in the “Map View”
• Dynamically search for places with categorized results
• A “Web View” reference page without leaving the app (requires an internet connection)
• Add a “visited” place to a favorites list
• Zooming to enlarge details
• Dynamic scrolling
• Ability to take notes

The Middle-earth Map starts with the world at appx. 10% of its 100 in. x 100 in. size and allows the user to “Zoom In” and “Scroll” around the “Map View”. When selecting a “place” from the list or from a result of a key word search… a map snapshot with a short description are presented.

Tapping the “microscope” presents a larger version of the “snapshot”. Tapping “Go There” automatically finds your selection in the map itself… then zoom or scroll as much as you like.

Tapping “Web View” presents a web page (of your current “place” selection) from the most popular and informative Tolkien web site: The Encyclopedia of Arda. Use this “Web View” for further research by following the huge selection of links on the site.

By tapping “Info”… a map legend, bibliography, app news and a link to a video demo of the features are shown.

The many features of this iPad app, make it a “must have” for the Tolkien fan, fanatic or casual reader. For further information, screenshots and a video demonstration go to:
