MusicDraw is a great tool for practicing music improvisation.
You can choose to play with the piano, the electric guitar or the drums.
You can also select a backing track with different style like Blues, Jazz or Boogie.
Thanks to the music theory implemented in MusicDraw, you cannot make any wrong notes. But like when you use a real instrument, the more you practice improvisation the more it sounds great.
It’s better to display the grid at the beginning so you can see where the different notes are.
Also for the drums you should unset the linear mode so the layout of the drums looks like a real drum set. There’s a complete description of the drums at the MusicDraw website: http://almarako.free.fr/musicdraw.html
For the piano and the electric guitar, start by using only one finger and draw shapes on the screen. Listen to the melody you play and try to make patterns that you can reuse in your improvisation.
