If you need a good lawyer where would you turn? You brother-in-law? That might not be a good idea considering how his last trial turned out.
iSeekLaw intends to greatly simplify the process of finding a good lawyer. It makes the day of going through the Yellow Pages seem like something out of Land of the Lost.
It’s a very simple concept but very useful. You simply tell the app to determine your location or manually enter your state and city. The technique they use for entering your city is very helpful. First you select the state. Then you select the first letter of the city. The database of cities is impressive.
Then you select from various lawyer types. This list is very extensive and will apply to every situation you could possibly need. Check out these options.
Once you have entered your location and the type of legal advice you need, the app does the rest of the work. iSeekLaw will scour their database of lawyer who practice in your area and present them to you. However, it doesn’t stop there. In addition to their contact information you can also evaluate their rates, years of service, number of lawyers in the firm, languages they speak, and numerous other parameters. You can even see their Law School.
You can optionally filter the search results with powerful filters. For example, you may only want a lawyer who speaks Spanish. Or only lawyer who will take on Pro Bono work. Or one that offers free consultations. All of those options, and many more, are available as search filters.
iSeekLaw also has the capability to bookmark lawyers you find suitable. Quite handy- no need to repeat the search when you find someone you need to talk with again.
Need to keep up to date with legal press releases and legal discussions in the blogosphere? No problem. iSeekLaw has you covered.
The only downside is the number of lawyers in the database at this time. We had a hard time finding lawyers in many of the areas while driving around Philadelphia. Once the database is more robust this will be a must have app for your “Utilities” group on your iPhone. After all, it’s free and it’s compatible with the Iphone and Ipad.
If you are a lawyer and want to connect with smart phone users, you can register to be included in the iseeklaw database at ISeekLaw.
