Creative and interactive app to draw 3D fractal trees now available in Apple’s App Store
BRUSSELS, Belgium — June 24, 2011 — Ranavision today started the promotion of their first application, Ranatree. Ranatree is a very hands-on application allowing young and old to create colorful, complex fractal trees with only a few gestures. In PhotoFrame mode, Ranatree will automatically animate an endless variety of trees. With red-cyan glasses you can watch it all in 3D.
With Ranatree, you manipulate a few branches that get repeated over and over to create complex designs. Rotate and tilt your view, touch and play with individual branches, add or delete them and watch the whole tree change in real-time. The interactive PhotoFrame mode behaves like a screensaver, but this time you’re allowed to touch! With red-cyan glasses you can view your trees in 3D. You can save your images or share them by email.
Ranatree focuses less on the math of fractals, and more on the fun. For the first time, fractal trees are not just flat, 2D, symmetrical geometry, but tap into the diversity of three dimensions. “It’s totally zen”, Bart Pattyn, Ranatree creator, found first users saying. “The 3rd dimension makes all the difference, it becomes really immersive.” In- app help gives full instructions.
Ranatree is now available world-wide from Apple’s App Store for the special introductory price of $0.99 (or equivalent world-wide). The universal application runs on all iPads, iPhone 3GS or later, and iPod touch 3rd gen or later. Link
