React is a stimulus-based gaming application somewhat along the lines of Wario Ware (Touched!) for the Nintendo DS. The premise is that the game presents to you four options, and you react to the instructions in the allotted amount of time.
Point 1: This game is severely addicting for anyone with a competitive nature.
Point 2: With only four options, one would consider this game to be a simple ‘Bop-It’ stand-in. Not the case. React is an addicting frenzy of acting and reacting that can keep you busy for any span of time.
Point 3: This game is beautiful. Being a man who finds simplicity overwhelmingly charming, I can say that this game is well-designed and a gripping addition to anyone’s iPhone catalogue.
Point 4: Controls are fantastic. There are four options, Poke, Slide, Pinch and Shake. The objective: do just that. Concise and to the point.
I genuinely enjoyed this game, and to be honest I was a little surprised by how addicting it was. Over time the game actually speeds up, and you can have a maximum of 5 ‘allowed misses’. This game tests your reflexes, so get ready to really work for that high score. If you’re looking for a great way to pass the time just about anywhere, I’d look in React’s direction.
