Are you a web developer and trying to get a handle on the broad field of search engine optimization?
If so the iPhone has a few Apps that can help.
Website Analyzer allows you to quickly run an analysis on any website within about 30 seconds. Each site is scored from 0 to 100 and color-coded for easy explanation. You get a detailed report with simple explanations of each feature of how to improve your SEO (search engine optimization) capability.
This App allows you to check your search engine raking from an unlimited number of keywords. Just tipe in the keywords and the app will show you where your site ranks in that keyword category.
Domain Tracker will track your domains and give you a record of their Google PageRank and Alexa Rank. You can view both domains that you own and your competitors. You can also view a history of the scores. The only thing it doesn’t do that I wish it had was a graph to show changes in your ranks over time.
SEM Calculator helps you do a lot of calculations you need to track how well your SEM campaigns are doing. It has a CPM calculator, CPM to CPA converter, CPL (cost per lead) calculator for email campaigns, and several others. Plus if you don’t know what all those abbreviations mean, it has the formulas defined. If you do pay-per-click (PPC) marketing, this is a great tool.
At first glance, WebFight Lite looks somewhat silly. But it can be useful for SEO to decide which term or phrase is more popular. The free version is supported by ads.
proSEO will do an analysis of Web pages that you surf to to tell you which keywords you should use. The biggest drawback to this app is that it is only compatible with the iPhone. So if you have an iPod touch, you won’t be able to use it.
There are a lot of other Apps in this category but this will give you a place to start if you are looking to track web traffic from your iPhone.
