The Eve Appeal is a new and exciting charity app which has been developed to raise funds for gynaecological cancer research charity, The Eve Appeal. The app is a completely new venture for The Eve Appeal and allows users to support the ‘kiss of life’ campaign taking place during Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month (GCAM) in September.
The design of the app is bold and stylish and the sender has two options – to either take a photo of their smooch or choose one from a fantastic selection of cartoon kisses. Once a kiss has been photographed or selected, a message can be added and together both are sent to the recipient via email. The sender can view their sent kiss on the campaign website, www.gcam11.org.uk
About The Eve Appeal and GCAM:
The Eve Appeal was launched in 2005 and is the UK’s only national gynaecological cancer charity. Our mission is to raise funds for research and to save lives from these diseases.
The Eve Appeal shares a united vision with the Gynaecology Cancer Research Centre at University College London to halve the current 41% mortality rate of gynaecological cancers.
September 2011 is the launch of Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month and The Eve Appeal are launching this new campaign with our ‘kiss of life’ appeal.
The ‘kiss of life’ campaign aims to collect 7,500 ‘kisses’ via our website, our new iPhone app or posted to us – one for every woman lost to gynaecological cancer each year in this country.
18,000 women are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer in the UK every year and of these women, 7,500 will die.
