Use your iPhone as a Universal Remote

Is there anything that Apple’s iPhone can’t do with the help of some accessories? The iPhone can help with store operations via its POS software, it can let you swipe your credit card on it and now it can function as a universal remote control. iPhone owners have always been able to control iTunes from the iPhone, so that’s no big deal, but when you’ve got an accessory that will turn your iPhone into an expensive universal remote, it’s certainly worth taking note. The accessory is the Re Accessory, and it will even allow you to define unlimited rooms with an unlimited number of devices. With some proper marketing, this device might even make Logitech start worrying about the iPhone’s dominace.

RedEye has a nice Universal Remote system for the iPhone too. You must purchase a separate IR box that's controlled over WiFi through a free app. Once set up (which takes a little patience to create a set of control screens to match your system and taste), it can be shared by any iPhone/Touch in the house.
