The popular points of interest finder Where To? for iPhone and the several times awarded NAVIGON MobileNavigator from now on work together seamlessly. MobileNavigator is able to be started via the “AppInteract-Interface” directly out of the Where To? 2.5 application and users will be guided to searched points of interest. That way Location Based Services and real Turn-by-Turn navigation never have been so close before.
Where To? by the German iPhone software house FutureTap is best known as a worldwide points of interest finder that utilizes the iPhone GPS and doesn’t require the user to do any typing.
“Our vision of the App Store is a more collaborative ecosystem where specialized apps for different purposes seamlessly work together”, says Ortwin Gentz, FutureTap CEO. “Instead of implementing a broad range of functionality in every app, we believe the trend is towards linked high-quality apps each focusing on one particular use case.”
Bernd Hahn, Head of Technical Product Management Software at NAVIGON AG adds: “We’re delighted to welcome ‘Where To?’ as the first iPhone app compatible with MobileNavigator. iPhone users can now combine the strength of ‘Where To?’ in local search with our award-winning navigation technology.”
On top of Navigon support, Where To? 2.5 adds a variety of new features such as free search, more customization options and full VoiceOver support for visually impaired users.
Where To? has sold over 190,000 copies and has received numerous accolades including an Apple staff pick. It works on any iPhone or iPod touch running iPhone OS 3.0 or later and is available for $2.99 on the App Store. More information including a screen cast is available on the FutureTap website.
